Places to Visit

Parasnath is the highest mountain peak in the state of Jharkhand. The hill is named after Lord "Parshvanath", the 23rd Tirthankar in Jainism who got salvation here. It has the famous Jain pilgrimage Shikhar Ji on the top of hill also known as  Sammed Sikhar. The hill is also known as Marang Buru by the santhals.

  Out of 24 Tirthankars of Jains, 20 got nirvana on Parshvnatha Hills.

 Madhuban is located on the foothills of the Parasnath Hills, which are considered to be one of the most sacred places for Jains. Madhuban is known for its natural beauty, cultural heritage, and religious significance. 

 It is considered to be a sacred place for Jains, and it is home to several Jain temples. The most famous temple in Madhuban is the Shri Digambar Jain Siddha Kshetra, which is dedicated to Lord Parasnath and is believed to be more than 2,000 years old.

Khandoli is a place which is a blend of Dam and Hill as Khadoli dam lies at the foot of Khandoli hill which is located around 10 km North-East of Giridih. Khandoli is also an important tourist spot. It has a beautiful park and we can see many birds including the Siberian birds that comes in winter.

 Usri Fall is situated on the river Usri which is a tributary of the Barakar River.  The profile of the river bed changes after passing through the falls. It is a  photogenic place.

 Maithon dam is built on the Barakar River between Dhanbad district of Jharkhand and Asansol District of West Bengal. The underground power station present here is the main center of attraction for tourists. Maithon Dam is very famous for its natural beauty as well as religious importance. The  Kalyaneswari temple is situated near this. Maithon also acts as border between Jharkhand and West Bengal.

Baba Baidyanath Dham is among one of the 12 Jyotirlings of Lord Shiva. It is also said that the 'heart' of goddess sati had fallen here and thus it is also one of the shaktipeeeth. Millions of people visit this holy place specially in the month of Shravan.

Surya Mandir or Jal mandir is a unique example of spirituality and architecture, located at Mirzaganj, Giridih on the Jamua-Deoghar highway. The sanctum of the temple is situated at the middle f the pond surrounded by water on all side connected by a 60 feet long bridge. It is mainly  It is built on the lines of Lotus temple Delhi.

Langta Baba's Samadhi is situated in Kharagdiha of Jamua block under Giridih District. People of all religion have unwavering faith in this samadhi. During the Paush Purnima, millions of devotees come here to offer Chadar to the samadhi.

 Nandan Pahar is a small hill on the edge of the town which hosts a famous Nandi Temple and faces the famous Shiv temple.Nandan Pahar is located at a distance of around 3 kmfrom Baba Baidyanath Dham station. The numerous temples on the hill have beautiful idols of Shiva, Parvati, Ganesh and Kartik.

 Trikut Parvat is a Hindu pilgrimage situated around 15 km away from the town of Deoghar Ropeway is a tourist attraction and can be used to reach the top of the hill along with the stairs. The hill is covered with clouds in rainy seasons.
